Notes taken on Wednesday 10th October 2018:

Feminism
After some time (in adulthood) went back to study at Goldsmiths
“I’ve got a really dyslexic mind”
Actually dyslexic? She is, found out at Goldsmiths Makes collages of things she? likes
Drifted away from pixel paintings
Alchemy/Magic. The artist, the body, the studio space, the past life traumas
Feels safe in her studio, like a place where an animal goes to feel safe
Middle aged single parent. Identifies as queer
Take pictures of herself, wrapped in her own paintings, paints on skin on body. Trying to marry herself with her paintings, wishes she could be more like her paintings, more bold and confident, rather than “anxious and neurotic” as someone once described her in an interview. Work about fragility and vulnerability Hard to portray vulnerability on social media cause to even have the ability to post there “must” be some confidence driving it. Found personal strength to be able to perform the paintings
“The work is as much as a surprise to you as it was to me”
Uncontaining trauma/spilling
I find some of Claire Price's paintings very intriguing and aesthetically pleasing. I am interested in the idea behind her images of her posing in front of her paintings, but I don't quite care for their visual form. Here are some of her paintings from her website that I quite enjoy:
